Washington DC, our nation’s capitol, is home to politicos, deal makers, and many of our national treasures. One of them being Julia Child’s kitchen! Yes, her entire kitchen is recreated and preserved at the Smithsonian. An amazing institution filled with lots of amazing objects, I spent hours exploring and poking around, however hands down one of the best parts was looking at how Julia Child organized her cooking space. After all it was the inspiration for the pegboard that now adorns my little kitchen in Brooklyn!
Fifty-five years after debuting on a Washington television station, the original Kermit the Frog puppet was donated Wednesday to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History.
America’s favorite amphibian was one of 10 puppets from the 1950s show “Sam and Friends” given to the museum by the family of Muppets creator Jim Henson.
